Innovative Traffic Solutions Ahead!
I have never taken any money from developers and special interests doing business with Miami Beach either directly (it’s illegal!) or through a loophole such as a PAC.
I am a federal Enforcement attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (since 2007) and previous to the SEC I litigated high-profile complex financial cases for prestigious NY law firms Dewey Ballantine and Mayer Brown.
It's no secret that traffic congestion everywhere has become a nightmare, affecting the daily lives of residents and visitors alike.
The time to move is now. At my initiative, I put together a Traffic Management Commission Workshop scheduled for October 23rd dedicated to tackling our city's traffic troubles head-on. This first of its kind Workshop will involve Federal, State, County and City representatives along with our full Commission and will serve as a forum for brainstorming and crafting innovative measures to find every way possible to help mitigate congestion.
Here's a glimpse of some key initiatives I am actively working on:
Implementing a Cutting-Edge Traffic Management Software System:
We're embracing technology to its fullest potential with the implementation of a state-of-the-art traffic management software system. This system will optimize traffic flow, reduce bottlenecks, and offer real-time data insights to aid decision-making. Read More
Enforcing Legal Measures Against Traffic Obstruction:
I am proposing legislation that contractors and delivery vehicles obstructing traffic lanes face stricter penalties, ensuring that our streets remain free from unnecessary congestion.Read More
Introducing Free Ferry Services to Enhance Connectivity:
Imagine the convenience of a free ferry service connecting Miami Beach with Miami via North/South routes.Read More
Specialized Traffic Control Officers for Enhanced Management:
Our major corridors will benefit from the presence of specialized traffic control officers, trained to facilitate smooth traffic flow, minimize bottlenecks, and enhance safety. Read More
Collaborating with FDOT and Miami-Dade County for real time Comprehensive Solutions:
I understand the importance of a united front. By coordinating efforts with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the County, we're pooling resources and expertise to develop holistic traffic solutions. Read More
Easing Congestion with 63rd Street Bridge Schedule Modifications:
I am actively exploring modifications to the 63rd Street bridge schedule to alleviate traffic during peak hours, making your daily commute more hassle-free. Read More
Miami Beach's Overdevelopment Challenge:
Rapid accelerated growth of development in Miami Beach has led to significant traffic congestion and is straining our City's aging infrastructure. Sensible development helps cities upgrade aging buildings. By contrast, overdevelopment erodes the quality of life of its residents. See below my recent newsletter "Miami Beach's Overdevelopment Challenge" on how we can preserve our Miami Beach Paradise.
Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming Traffic Management Workshop meeting and join us in shaping the future of our city's transportation landscape.
